The Final Draft Stirling Highway Special Control Area was approved by Council on 13 October 2009 for in principle support for inclusion into Draft Town Planning Scheme No. 3.
The Scheme is currently with the Western Australian Planning Commission for a request to advertise with the Community. The Planning Commission is required to grant consent to advertise prior to a Local Government commencing the process.
It is anticipated that the Planning Commission will grant consent for the Scheme (including the Stirling Highway Provisions) ready for consultation in the second half of 2010.
Once this consent is granted, a comprehensive consultation program will be carried out with the entire City of Nedlands Community.
